Pier Luigi Vigna

Pier Luigi Vigna was born in 1933. He became a Magistrate in 1959. During his career as a magistrate, Vigna led various important investigations aimed against extreme right and extreme left terrorist organisations; several cases concerning kidnapping for ransom; national and international drug smuggling rings; Mafia; Russian organised crime; the bombing of the 904 Naples to Milan train on December 1984 (of which members of the Sicilian Cosa Nostra were found guilty); and of the Mafia bombings in Rome, Florence and Milan during the years 1993-94. In 1997 he was appointed as the National Attorney for Antimafia. He left the position in 2005 to become Honorary General Attorney of the Court of Cassation.
