Emmanuele Francesco Maria Emanuele is a Supreme Court lawyer, economist, expert in financial, tax and insurance issues and essayist. He graduated in law, has been awarded a degree honoris causa in Fine Arts by the St. John's University in Rome and a degree honoris causa in Canon Law by the Pontificia Università Lateranense in Rome and specialised in Financial and Monetary Economics at Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts U.S.A. He was formerly professor of Public Finance at the LUISS Guido Carli in Rome, of which he was also Vice Chairman and is currently a Professor Emeritus at the Universidad Francisco de Vitoria in Madrid, extraordinary Professor of Economic Policy and Public Finance at the Università Europea in Rome, of which he is Vice Dean, and a Member of the Board of Directors of the Fondazione Civitas Lateranensis. Chair of the Fondazione Roma and of the Fondazione Roma-Mediterraneo - established in 2008 for the purpose of promoting economic, cultural and social development in Mediterranean countries - and Honorary Chair of the Orchestra Sinfonica di Roma. In October 2009 he was appointed Chair of the Azienda Speciale Palaexpo - which manages the Scuderie del Quirinale and the Palazzo delle Esposizioni museums and the Casa del Jazz theatre - and more recently Head of International Affairs of the the Associazione Civita's Chairman's Committee. He was appointed, on the 22nd December 2010, by the Italian Minister for Art and Cultural activities President of the Italian Pavilion Intellectuals' Committee at the fifty fourth art exhibition in the 2011 Venice Biennale and, on the 3rd February 2011, President of the Art Section's Scientific Committee for the exhibition of visible arts in the fifty fourth edition of the Festival dei Due Mondi in Spoleto. During his career professor Emanuele has held numerous offices as Chairman, Member of the Board and Advisor in both public and private leading Italian and international institutions and companies. He is also an author of essays on the subject of law, finance and politics and the following books have been recently published: Stato e cittadino. La rivoluzione necessaria (The State and citizens. Professor Emanuele has received various international awards for both his scientific activities and constant attention to philanthropic and humanitarian issues and, recently, for his activities in the field of poetry.
