Giddens, the real emergency is the climatic chance

According to the sociologist, we tend to present the worst as a real risk. This is the cause of people's fear, and the consequence is very bad. "We all agree that there's the global warming, but reactions are different" said Anthony Giddens, at the end of second day of World Social Summit, ending, tomorrow. "Society is divided in three classes. For the sceptics, there's not a risk; the misfortune prophets and then the scientist, that value the global warming very allarming. The main chatacteristic of our society of anxiety is the prophecy of the end". Nevertheless, continued Giddens, thanks to scientific progress we live longer. But the perception of the risk isn't comparable to the real risk. He added not supporting "the misfortune prophets", but not even the optimism, that understimate all the risks. In the end, the solutions: "Against the risk, we need a radical view, that will be the political key to the future".
