Promoting human rights
Summary of the speech What causes fear in Africa is the terrible spectre of hunger. Europe has solved its problems, but Africa did not. The fears today in the west are unemployment, lack of permanent housing, nuclear apocalypse, and terrorism. 80% of the wealth, 60% of industrial production and trade are divided between America, Asia and Europe. This leaves very little for the rest of the world. The consequences for Africa can be disastrous. What is left in Africa is famine and this leads to emigration and terrible journeys. In some cases they go to the doors of hell, impoverishing local communities. And those who are poor and hungry cannot even take advantage of fundamental rights. In Africa, in the poorer areas, terrorism means nothing. A solution for fighting it could be respect for rules and human values.
