Born in Naples in 1979. Saviano is a journalist and writer graduated in Philosophy at University of Naples "Federico II". He collaborates with various magazines and with daily newspapers and uses a combination of literary and journalistic style to report on reality. Saviano is the author of the hugely successful non-fiction novel Gomorra, which strongly denounces the activities of the Camorra, the Neapolitan criminal organisation. After publishing Gomorra Saviano became the object of threats and menaces and has been living under police escort since the October 2006. Saviano's Gomorra is the only Italian book included in the New York Times' 100 Notable Books of the Year 2007 and in The Economist's list of 100 best books of 2008.Day and hour of the speech
