Michel Maffesoli is considered the founder of "everyday sociology". Born in France in 1944, in 1981 Maffesoli became a professor in Human Sciences at the University of Sorbonne in Paris. He is currently director of Sociétés, an international magazine of human and social science, and of Centre of Present and Everyday Studies (CEAQ). He is also Secretary General of the Research Centre on the Immagination (Centre de Recherche sur l'Imaginaire).
