Mauro Mazza

Mauro Mazza, journalist, was born in Rome in 1955. During the early years of his career he worked for Il Secolo d'Italia and for the AdnKronos agency, while also collaborating with private television channels and numerous periodicals. He went to work for RAI in 1990, spending three years at Radio1 News and then moved to TV 1 News (TG1). In 1998, he became deputy director of the main RAI news programme, remaining there until 2002 when he was nominated director of TV 2 News, a position he still holds. He is the author of various essays and has published "I ragazzi di via Milano. Cronache e ricordi di un secolo fa" (The Boys of Via Milano. Chronicles and Recollections of a Century Ago", Fergen, 2005, and with Biagio Agnes, "TV, Wife, Lover, Companion", RAI-ERI, 2004. During the academic year, 2001-2002, he held a seminar on the theme, "Utopia e Informazione" at the Political Science faculty of Rome's Sapienza University.
