Massimo Giannini, a journalist and writer, was born in Rome on February 6, 1962. He has a degree in Law and has collaborated with Il Sole 24 Ore and La Stampa newspapers. He is currently deputy director and editorialist for the newspaper, La Repubblica. He writes mostly about politics and finance. Since July 2007, he has been chief editor the Monday supplement, "Business and Finance". He takes part regularly in the television programme, "Omnibus" on the "La7" channel. He has published "Ciampi, Sette anni di un tecnico al Quirinale" (Ciampi, Seven years of a economics expert in the Quirinal Palace), Turin, Einaudi, 2006.
