Dario Di Vico

Dario Di Vico is a journalist who was born in Ceccano (Fr) on August 22, 1952. He attended the classical high school Norberto Turriziani in Frosinone and then received a degree in sociology at Rome's Sapienza University. From 1977 to 1983, he worked as a union official for the UILM in Turin with a position in the Mirafiori branch. During that time he began to work for newspapers, and his publications included the Fabbrica/Impresa periodical edited by trade union organisations (CGIL, CISL, UIL) in Turin. He began writing on union themes for the daily La Gazzetta del Popolo in Turin and the weekly, Mondo Economico. In 1986, the director, Giulio Anselmi hired him for the weekly, Il Mondo, where he remained for several years. After a brief period at Italia Oggi, in 1989 he was hired for the Corriere della Sera by Ugo Stille. At the editorial office in Via Solferino he wrote about Rome and Milan regarding economics and politics, first as a correspondent and then, in 2004, as deputy director, a position he still holds under the director, Paolo Mieli. He has written: "Industrializzazione senza sviluppo" (Industrialisation Without Development), published by Interconsult; and, with Emiliano Fittipaldi, "Profondo Italia" (Deep Italy), published by BUR in 2004. He has won two journalism awards: the Premiolino and the Premio Sodalitas, both in 2005.
